Raise the Bar.

This is my recent poem..

Raise the bar
I have this standard of what I want,
It's raised to the highest place.
Though dating helps add and lift it more,
It moves inch by inch.
Everyone seemed almost the same,
Then one day someone came along.
My standard shot through the sky,
It's reached a height I've only dreamed.
I've learned I deserve the best,
And the BEST deserves the BEST of me.

Winter Games

Saterday morning my shin splints were hurting pretty bad so I asked dad for a blessing before I left to the competition. I was more at ease after his blessing, although excitement for my first kinda big competition was filling me from top to bottom. Before we left dad wrapped up my legs with some sports tape, which made my legs feel kinda funny but my shins hurt a little less.

Once as we arrived mom and dad left to go find a seat as I checked in and got my skates on. after waiting for a few groups to go, our level came up and group A went first, this is where I started to get nervous, as well as said hi to one of my young women leaders. We were supposed to have a 5 min warm up but they changed it to 3min. I was up first so Allison asked me to warm up for 2min and then come rest before I had to go. My warm up was alright but I kept leaning forward too much in some of my jumps.

After resting, my name was announced and I got into my starting position, then Off I went to the sound of Micheal Buble's "feeling good". My legs were not under me and I could barely feel them, but I could tell that my weight was on my heels and I couldnt figure out why I couldnt change it. I gave it my best and landed all my jumps successfully. I had a few issues with my twizzles, a wobble in my spiral, and I fell at the easiest part for reasons even I cant figure out, but after that I got right back in the game and continued to give all my legs would give.
.

Waiting for the results took a while but i bussied myself with visiting family and more young women leaders. As soon as the results came I was so glad to see my friends name as first. Proudly I took the Third place medal!! it was such an exciting and amazing experience. I'd love to do it again.

Next time I won't practice so hard and give my self shin splint that way we'll see if I can get 2nd or 1st. :)

VALENTINES DANCE

DREAMS DO COME TRUE!!... and that's exactly what happend.
After school around 4 I got my hair done by my neighbor Jodi who was able to create my dream hairdo.

After getting ready I picked up my bff Lindsay then went to get Brian but as we pulled up we realized I had forgotten the Boutonniere so we ran home and then returned. He was the only one there so lindsay took our photos, which by the way all of our photos look AMAZING! Once as we were finished we drove off to get Lindsays bf, and the whole time we were ever in the car we were listening too "Mama Mia", "Fighting Temptations", "Lady Antebellum" and other random stuff. It was fun cause as we were singing to a "Mama Mia" song "lay all your love on me" Brian started singing too and as the singing rose he encouraged me to sing it (in a way spotlighted me) it was fun, and it made me blush, so did many other things that night.

We met our group at Guru's, which was full so we ended up at Sammy's. That place was fun and a blast, the workers and anyone else there, either in our group or just strangers were awesome. I really enjoyed eating there, it was good. afterward we took off to the dance.

We all got out and gave the men their masks and put them on inside, they were fun to have but a little irritating to wear. I showed Brian off to my "sister" Tessa and a few others. Our group Loved Brian and Brian Loved our group especially Matt and Steven, it was awesome to see everyone interact with him and i was so glad that everything worked out so well. The upbeat dances were fun to watch the guys dance to, espeacially the Jump on it song haha!! not to long into dancing most of our group left because some of them had early curfew.

A little into our dancing we went and got some single's pictures. then quickly returned with out our masks and we DANCED THE NIGHT AWAY haha. Sometimes i just dont enjoy slow dancing because it is awkward and boring, but I enjoyed every single one of them, it wasnt to awkward and it was very fun because they were full of differnt spins and several dips, but the most unexpected were the little kisses after each dance upon my fingers and top of my hand.

Durring one slow dance I happend to notice we were dancing under a real tree that had lights all up it and I was unconciously grinning ear to ear, when I heard Brian ask why i was smiling, and dumbly I said "We're dancing under a tree." haha. Then I explaind how It was kinda one of my dreams/fantasy's to dance under/by a tree under the stars, and in a way it had just came true.

After the dance we left out the back of the library and walked around the school, i don't remember why. Brian put his coat around my shoulders and i stayed warm, we noticed lindsay and jake were behind us and waited only for a bit before we decided to ditch them and we raced to the car! as we left i noticed the light in the back of the car was on and very bothersome so I asked lindsay to turn it off and as I looked back to the road and saw the light (crosswalk street light behind the school.) Brian informed me that the light was red. Tired, Slow Reflexes, delayed reaction, I ran my first light :) HAHA i'll always remember it now for sure. First we dropped off Jake drove around the block took lindsay home, and then I took Brian home.

After our farewell and a hug, The most perfect fairytale had come to an end in which I wish it didnt or at least could have continued or something. Brian is an amazing person and i'm glad I have met him and asked him to this dance, this was THE BEST DANCE/ experience i've ever had with any guy. When I got home and told mom the story of the day she asked "did he kiss you.. no did he kiss your forehead?" and even though those are the best kisses in my opinion I'm glad to say that no kissing happend, just like all my other dates/dances, it was the most special night ever. I'm probably being silly by saying so but I thought "Tonight was a fairytale."

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DANCING WITH ME BRIAN!!

I woke up early on thursday for my ice skating lesson and as I was leaving at 6:30am I noticed something catch the light as I was backing out, it was pink and alot of them. Grrr I really wanted to see what it was but I was running late. All through school I was anxious to get home and check it out! As soon as I did get home I went in side and got my camera. Outside the door was a stuffed puppy which I have named BP, he was next to a sheet of ice in a pan and a trail of red Rose Petals that led to the grass.

In the yard were a GAZILLION hearts that had sweet somethings written over them and a few blank ones. I took my sweet time taking pictures of all the written on ones. Then Meredeth took some pictures of me with the stuff.

After collecting everything and melting the sheet of ice I found inside 4 zip block bags a poem. This poem told me to find the hearts that had numbers on the back of them and follow the code. In the end it spelled out "I would love to go with you". Later I found out that my date (Brian Parker) had set this all up at 2 am!!

It was a very exciting day! and I love my new puppy!
