Lindsay and I were in the regional science fair held at BYU. It all started when she went to get some grades changed and then I ended up helping her in her project. We did it on rocks from different geological time periods and the CO2 from those rock affected the atmosphere. (Global Warming) who affects it more nature or man. Our conclusion Nature is the cause and we are at a low point in how much the earth is giving of CO2 and that it has given off X's more then it is now.

Any way on Wednesday we went and set up our huge poster board that got quite a few comments from multiple people. We spent practicly the whole day just getting the poster ready.Grandma and Grandpa Hill came and saw hit which was exciting, grandpa wants all of our data when we are done too. lol.

The following day, we were there early in the morning, all dressed up and ready to go. The first three hours were judging and we needed at least three. most of the people that came too ask questions were not even official judges but they were the funnest to talk to cause they realy liked out project and understood it. some of our judges were hardly even interested at all!! it was so frustraiting!! but some actually seemed interested. Especially a lady from Stockholm water, who in fact came and talked to us twice. At lunch break we were going to go but decided to hang back a bit, right when we decided to go our final judge came! luckily we didnt leave.
After lunch break was public viewing and Final Judging, which let me tell you some of those judges sadly didnt even know what they were asking. but we got through it all and headed to the ticket drawings where Lindsay won a two Norton Virus discs for the computer. After this drawing we took down the poster (with the help of her boyfriend) and into the car. Then I raced off to work.
Leaving work early we got to Timpview where ther awards were being held. we sat through alot of the awards we were being qualified for just to be dissapointed that we didnt really get any that went with our project untill we heard "For the U.S. Stockholm Junior Water Prize REgional Award ...... team project, Lindsay Egginton and Tori Hill....." we were so shocked. we walked up there shook some dudes hand and stood in a line with others, got applauded to, then headed behind the stage to recieve the certificate and any information we needed. We are turning in a research paper to see if they will qualify us for state!!! so we'll see how that goes.

The next award we won was the "Utah's Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Fair", this fair is being held in SLC this month and we decided not to go to it, because we are both busy but hopefully that can change.

3rd we got "2nd place in Team Work (Earth and Planetary Science)" and a check of $30 to share. We got to go up on stage and recieve a trophey, but they gave us the 1st place ones so they ended up switching them back stage. We were that close to first haha.

4th and surprizingly Lindsay and I both got Scholarships of $4,000 to attend Westminster College!!!! they will give us $1,000 a year!! i'm so excited and am Hoping to use this scholarship to get into UofU or BYU, I'll see if they can give me a better deal. :D I"m totally excited!!!! and i'm proud we did this, it was a good and fun experience.
